Sevettijärvi - Pulmanki-vaellusreitti kulkee suuren Kaldoaivin erämaan halki. Eteläisessä päässään reitti kulkee vielä mäntykankailla, mutta pohjoiseen kuljettaessa muuttuu ympäröivä tunturiylänkö aina vain karummaksi ja pääasiassa koivua kasvavaksi.
